Superb Accomplishments for Ta’allum Students

High achieving students at Ta’allum Academies have celebrated more exceptional academic success in Summer 2019 exams. One of the highlights in the international school calendar, the Pearson ‘Outstanding Learner Awards’, recognises top-performing students. These awards are presented to students who achieved the highest marks in their subjects in Qatar and across the Middle East from amongst the many thousands of students who sat for the examinations. From the schools receiving awards from Pearson Edexcel, Ta’allum Academies are one of the largest recipients, a position it has enjoyed for the last 3 years. This year in 2019 students at Ta’allum Academies scooped an incredible total of 8 IGCSE awards.

There was impressive double success at Al Jazeera Academy. Raghad Sabaawi Ibrahim achieved the highest mark in IGCSE Chemistry in Qatar and across the whole Middle East. She also received the highest mark in Qatar for English Language. Raghad’s Chemistry teacher Shaid Akhtar praised Raghad’s dedicated, conscientious approach to her studies. There was high success also for Abdulaziz Al Ansari for his marvellous achievement of the highest mark in Qatar for IGCSE Mathematics, making it a clean sweep for al Jazeera in the core subjects of English, Maths and Science.

At Al Maha Academy for Girls there were 2 double award winners. Al Dana Al Abdullah achieved the highest mark in IGCSE Psychology in both Qatar and across the whole Middle East. Al Dana’s teacher Sana Serroukh cited Al Dana’s ‘initiative’ and reflected that ‘as teacher she too had learned from her student!’ Al Dana is aiming to be the first Ta’allum student to be awarded a place at the prestigious Cambridge University. The academy also paid tribute to the high success of Maheen Zafar for achieving the highest mark in Qatar for Physics in Qatar and also for her distinguished achievement of the highest mark in Information and Communication Technology in Qatar.

Not to be outdone Al Maha Academy for Boys saw Mohammed Yousef Al-Hor received an award for the Highest Mark in Qatar for IGCSE Biology.

The students’ outstanding success was honoured last week at Awards Ceremonies in their schools. All the students received commemorative gifts and certificates in the presence of their family, teachers and peers along with Ta’allum CEO, Mr Ahmed Al Mannai and Dr Shawkat, Executive Director of Tarbeya.

Dr Mohammed Saefan, Ta’allum’s Director of Education expressed his delight at the students’ success, saying ‘Such results can only arise through high quality teaching, dedication, commitment and an aspirational belief that our students can achieve at the very highest levels. The award winners are developing skills required for the future in a world where lifelong learning is essential.’ He stressed that ‘it is the effort, development of skills and discipline that will permit students to adapt, achieve and be successful in the future.’

Ta’allum CEO, Mr. Ahmed Al Mannai said ‘We are very proud of our students’ success. They are future leaders and they represent Qatar’s future. These wonderful exam outcomes bring great credit and honour to our students and their parents, to their teachers, to our Academies and to Ta’allum Education.’
